About Us

For most of outerwear's history, function has come first and design followed, if it followed at all. A coat's job was to keep you warm. Whether it kept you looking like yourself, or lasted beyond one season, was someone else's problem.

Our founder, Katrin, grew up around a different standard. Growing up in Estonia, people owned far fewer pieces of clothing than we're used to here in Canada. That scarcity never meant compromise. Women cared about good fabric, thoughtful design, and quality workmanship, because when you only own a few pieces, they need to be well made, functional and beautiful. You wear and care for them for years. Clothes weren't disposable…and they certainly weren't going to a landfill. Despite these obstacles, women in Estonia dressed well. It mattered to them.

When Katrin moved to Canada, she expected the cold. She was used to cold winters in Estonia. What surprised her was the outerwear: so much of it treated design and durability as an afterthought. Technical, disposable, forgettable.

So she set out to bring that standard here. First with Eleven Elfs, and years later, fully her own, with Solivé: fewer, better pieces, functional and beautifully designed, made to be worn for years, not one season.

Every piece we make is small-batch, on purpose. Thoughtfully designed for women, and made to be worn for years. What doesn't sell gets donated, never sent to a landfill.

We didn't build Solivé to make you look warm. We built it to make you feel good in the cold. Because Katrin already knew from moving between two cold countries that the weather shouldn't dictate how you feel in what you're wearing.

Designed to be seen.

Made to keep you warm.
